About the Instructor

Being around children has been a part of my daily life since I was a small child. My Mother owned and operated a family daycare for approximately 35 years. Growing up my sisters and I began helping out around the daycare. Eventually I followed in my Mom’s footsteps and began my work with children. I have her to thank for introducing me to the Montessori method. One day she said to me “Anissa, I think you should look into the Montessori method, you will love it.” I did just that and she was right. I have been a Montessori teacher now for 15 years. What I love most about the Montessori method is the children’s ability to self correct with the materials. Oftentimes, we do so much for the children when they are truly capable and eager to do for themselves. As Maria Montessori once said “Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed.”
My husband Patrick and I live in Sherman Oaks with our 4 year old daughter Cora. My parents were born and raised in Rosario, Argentina and came to the states 40 years ago. I have two sisters who also work in Education. Our home life was rich in culture and love for tradition and family.
Over the last year because of the pandemic, I have been running an Online Preschool program. During this time I also took an online yoga teacher training for adults and a course in Children’s yoga. I am currently enrolled in an RBT (Registered Behavioral Technician) program. Needless to say, I have a love of learning and feel honored to guide children on their journey as they find what they love. I am so excited to join the Greenleaf team as the Online Content Creator, Parent and Me Supervisor and Afternoon Pod Teacher; I have worked with Miss Vanessa in the past and am eager to share in all the mindful magic that is Greenleaf Montessori.

Bringing the Montessori philosophy to your home
The Montessori environment is designed to engage children in an inviting, charming, and
inspirational way. It consists of a prepared space with age-appropriate materials we call "jobs." The space itself is designed to encourage children to explore so that they become more curious, resourceful, and learn a systematic way to figure things out.
“The little things? The little moments? They aren’t little.” ~ Jon Kabat-Zinn
